Blue Skyline Marketing — B2B SMS Platform

Blue Skyline Marketing

In August 2017 I started Blue Skyline Marketing for local businesses that wanted SMS marketing without hiring an agency. The pitch was straightforward: opt-in subscribers, schedule campaigns, and see whether messages actually drove check-ins and callbacks.

What it does

Shipped features, not just a landing page:

  • Client and admin login with separate roles and account verification gates
  • Bulk SMS compose, edit, and send through Twilio, with webhooks for delivery status
  • Subscriber database, CTA pages, and dashboard widgets for daily opt-ins and check-ins
  • Tiered subscriptions with caps on active accounts; unpaid accounts blocked until setup completes
  • Employee tablet flow with a second-password layer so staff could run check-ins without full dashboard access
  • Onboarding tour on first login so new clients could find compose, database, and settings without a walkthrough call

Technical approach

PHP and MySQL on the back end, AdminLTE and jQuery on the front. Twilio handled the SMS pipe; most of the work was in account state — who could send, what tier they were on, and whether verification had cleared before the dashboard loaded.

I kept payment and subscription logic server-side so tier limits were enforced before any message left the queue.

Status

First commit August 22, 2017 — same day the repo already had a working site shell. The product had the shape of a real SaaS: auth, billing tiers, operational dashboard, and a third-party integration that had to work every time.
